We are looking to recruit a qualified Planner to work with a high-performing local authority within a diverse borough. This career graded position offers the successful applicant to attain faster promotion to a senior level, subject to performance and career milestones.
There are exciting challenges on the horizon for Surrey Heath, with new housing developments proposed on reserved housing sites and land at Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut, plus significant regeneration plans proposed for Camberley town centre. In addition to urban and town locations Surrey Heath encompasses countryside and rural settlements, conservation areas, Green Belt land and sites of nature conservation. You will therefore deal with a variety of applications, including more complex and major applications, and will be expected to represent the Council at committee and on appeal.
We will invest in your ongoing professional development, including training opportunities and mentoring through the APC process. The development pressures facing the Borough, together with the singular team ethos and structure, will provide you with the potential to process all types of proposals and enable advancement of your career at a quicker rate.
Benefits include a minimum of 24 days annual leave (increasing to 29 days with 5 years’ service), free staff parking, paid professional membership subscription, Cycle to Work Scheme, Local Government Pension Scheme and Lifestyle Rewards Benefits.
