The successful post holder will provide inspirational and constructive leadership to the Housing Options & Support team to ensure high performance within a networked operating model. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and managing the provision of the Council’s Housing Options Service and Housing Support service ensuring it fulfils its contractual and legal obligations. To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Housing Options and Support Team, managing all aspects of the housing access, options and homelessness services and ensuring all statutory functions are provided to a high quality including advice and assistance, homelessness assessment, reviews, placements and housing register applications under relevant legislation.
This role will provide active support and guidance to the Housing Options and Support Team and to ensure that a high quality service is provided to customers, ensuring that performance meets and exceeds targets and provide statistics. Staff management duties including employee learning and development, recruitment, identifying training needs and conducting appraisals.
To lead and participate in joint reviews of homelessness services and/or services for older and vulnerable people, ensuring the implementation of initiatives to minimise homelessness amongst vulnerable households and maximise the effective use of accommodation.
To manage and supervise the teams work with other specialist teams to assess individual needs and to review and implement care and support plans, and to work with colleagues and partners to identify appropriate housing and support strategies where clients have complex or multiple needs.
Kingston Council is seeking a highly competent, motivated and experienced Housing Options and Support Manager to lead a front line service assisting households experiencing housing difficulties.
The successful candidate will have worked in homelessness for a significant amount of time and have experience in providing housing related support to vulnerable residents.
You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partner organisations in order to deliver agreed outcomes, manage service priorities and ensure targets are met.
You will need to be committed to providing excellent customer service and be performance driven.
