This is an exciting time to join Surrey County Council's Children with Disabilities Service as we move forward with a new structure, adopting the Family Safeguarding Model to improve outcomes for our children. The new structure facilitates the provision of services to children with disabilities and their families at the correct level of professional involvement, at the right time.
We currently have two roles available: one permanent position and one position being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.
These roles sit within our Family Support Team, where you will be one of seven experienced Family Support Workers taking the lead in supporting children, young people and their families across Surrey. Working closely with our colleagues in Education and Health; the Children with Disabilities Service aims to safeguard and promote the welfare and development of disabled children whilst supporting them to be cared for by their families at home.
The role entails working directly with children and young people with an identified package of support. A substantial part of the role will be working directly with families to provide parenting support by using a range of interventions to achieve outcomes agreed in the child's plans.
As a Family Support Worker, you would ideally have Vocational Qualifications Level 3/4 or equivalent in relevant fields with experience of working with disabled children and their families.
