The Environment, Transport & Infrastructure (ETI) directorate is responsible for a wide range of services including climate change, renewable energy, highways, transport, planning, countryside and waste management. These services are critical for people living, working and travelling through Surrey, delivered by the County Council or in partnership.
About the Team
The Environment Commissioning Group plays a crucial role in supporting the commitment of the Council in reducing CO2 emissions in Surrey to net zero by 2050, or sooner. The team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to set in motion the Council's renewable energy ambitions and to see these through.
About the role
As an Environment Project Officer focusing on data and reporting you will be responsible for collecting, reviewing and managing data that will be used to report against the targets in the Surrey’s Climate Change Strategy. This will include leading on data and reporting, producing external reports and calculating the carbon impacts of new programmes or initiatives.
This is an exciting challenge for a highly numerate individual with strong project management skills in the sustainability / climate change sector. To be shortlisted for an interview for this position, your application and supporting statement will clearly evidence:
- Experience in data analysis and reporting including managing large data sets and data modelling
- Detailed and up to date knowledge of best practice in reporting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good understanding of climate change
- Exemplary project management skills and the ability to manage complex projects
