We are looking for a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Spending Support Officer to join our friendly, hardworking and committed team. You will be based at the Town Hall (currently we are working remotely) and be responsible for monitoring and reporting the delivery of community infrastructure projects (ranging from new playground equipment to upgraded road infrastructure).


Using your adept interpersonal skills, you will support the CIL Spending Panels who recommend where Local CIL funds are spent. You will also use your strong Excel skills to track and aid the delivery of Local CIL funded projects by other Council departments and partner organisations and may be called upon to assist Council delivery partners. There will also be an opportunity to help with the review of the Council’s 5-year programme of Strategic CIL projects including a new call for projects and assessment of project bids.


About the Person:
• Ideally you will care about a place having the infrastructure it needs and enjoys supporting project delivery.
• You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a good communicator in writing and in person, competent in dealing sensitively at a senior level (ideally councillors) and with applicants’ requests for funding.


Behaviours:
• You will be highly motivated and capable.
• Are capable of working well on your own and as be a supportive member of a team.
• Adaptable to the task in hand and willing to learn.
• You are confident in making process improvement suggestions where necessary.

 

Skills:
• You will possess strong numerical skills and strong competence in the use of Excel spreadsheets and MS Word.
• Attention to detail, strong organisational, time and project management skills and a methodical approach to working are vital.

 

Qualifications and experience:
• GSCE and ‘A’ level or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, and ideally experience of tracking and delivering projects.


You will receive excellent one to one training, if required, as well as relevant courses to aid personal development.
