Surrey County Council is undertaking one of the most wide-ranging transformation exercises in local government which comprises of several programmes that are critical to the future success and financial stability of the council. We are on a rapid change journey, with new management, innovative approaches, energy and ambition.
We are looking for highly skilled and enthusiastic business analysts to supplement an in-house team of digital consultants, solution architects, business analysts and project managers working on the Agile Capabilities Programme, delivering innovative solutions to transform how our workforce operates.
Personalised Intranet and Digital Staff Workspaces. This project aims to give every member of the workforce easy access to the information and tools that they need to do their job to the best of their ability, regardless of location or device.
Working closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts from Web Operations, Communications and IT & Digital, as the Digital Business Analyst on this project, you will be experienced in leading on the delivery of quality specifications for website/intranet and collaboration workspaces and establishing baselines upon which to monitor and demonstrate usage and business benefit.
Employing techniques such as workshops, interviews and questionnaires to get to the heart of business requirements, you will also be skilled in capturing clear requirements and documenting these in the form of epics, user stories and use cases. You will support the prioritisation of requirements and proactively manage requirement conflict resolution.
Agile Organisation Programme. At the heart of every organisation is its data. As a Data Business Analyst, you will map the organisation’s data landscape to support the council's work to embed new agile ways of working and provide staff with the tools and support to be high performing and outcome focussed.
Working closely with key stakeholders in the Agile Organisation Programme, Finance, Human Resources and IT & Digital you will identify and document types of data (using standard data modelling techniques), where they are held and the data owners.
You will understand the use of data and data analysis to support decision making and have experience of identifying data quality issues and developing processes for data collection, measurement and monitoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confidence in building relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders (such as council employees (including technical IT&D staff), elected members, suppliers & residents) and a structured and methodical approach is essential to be successful in these roles.
