Could you help support the Senior Coroner deliver their judicial duties in a role where no two days are the same?
We are recruiting for multiple Coroner’s Support & Delivery Officers to a fast paced and diverse role.
As a Coroner’s Support & Delivery Officer you will play a key role in the delivering the effective running of the Coroner’s Court as well as supporting Coroner’s Officers in obtaining information critical to cases they are managing.
Your excellent customer service and communication skills will tie in with your ability to relate to people from backgrounds reflecting the diversity of the people who live and work in Surrey. You will play a key role in helping explain the Coronial process to people and signpost them to other organisations if they need bereavement or emotional support.
We are looking for people who care about their community and feel they can make a difference to the lives of people who have lost family members, loved ones or friends. This role requires being able to deliver the legal duties required compassionately, whilst being personally emotionally resilient when dealing with what may be difficult or traumatic situations.

We are looking for someone who has/is:
- Excellent attention to detail and be able to follow define processes whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy
- Experience of providing high levels of customer care and professionalism to members of the public
- The ability to prioritise their work effectively and work independently to meet deadlines
- Excellent IT skills and be able to follow defined processes in a timely manner.
This role requires close working with hospital mortuaries and funeral directors, ensuring the accurate identification of the deceased and that they are treated with dignity and respect. This may require the person working from locations other than the Coroner’s Court in Woking.
Experience gained in the role, from working in an active Court, gathering critical information and dealing with the deceased, will be invaluable for progressing in a career in the Coroner’s Service.
This role requires applicants to travel around the county as required.
