  • Working Pattern: Full Time
  • Hours: 36.0 hours per week
  • Salary: £40,227 per annum

The starting salary for this position is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

We are looking for a motivated and inspirational Project Manager to support the Green Social Prescribing National Test and Learn site in Surrey Heartlands. In this role you will build excellent working relationships with partners across health, care and the environment sector, delivering a pioneering collaborative approach. You will be passionate about nature and the benefit it could bring to people’s health and wellbeing, and will show innovation and perseverance to bring about systematic change.

In December 2020, Surrey Heartlands were successful in becoming one of seven national Green Social Prescribing Test and Learn Sites.

Since the coronavirus pandemic, when many people have experienced distress, loneliness or anxiety, there has been an increased public awareness of the benefits of regular access to green spaces. Studies have shown that this has the potential to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Supported by a cross-governmental partnership, the Surrey Heartlands Test and Learn Site will connect Surrey residents with their natural environment. It will focus on communities hardest hit by coronavirus, including those living in deprived areas, people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities or from BAME communities.

In the role you will be responsible for the day-to-day programme management of the Surrey Heartlands Green Social Prescribing Test and Learn Site; overseeing the delivery of specific outputs to time, quality and cost. You will arrange and co-ordinate the county-wide Green Social Prescribing Network, made up of over 130 representatives from health, care, district and boroughs, green sector organisations, voluntary community and faith sector representatives and Surrey communities, who will help co-design and co-produce the Green Social Prescribing Test and Learn Site through seven working groups.

We are looking for a motivated and inspirational person who can drive forward progress on this exciting agenda. You will report to national partners and confidently share learning through regional networks. You will positively engage and empower others, overcoming obstacles to make the most of the test and learn opportunity. To be successful in this role you will have experience of innovation and co-design, as well as strong communication, problem-solving and partnership skills.

In this role you will report to the Communities and Prevention Lead (based in Adult Social Care), but will work across health, social care and environment sectors.

This role will:

  • Navigate through complex ideas and develop new approaches to delivery that address challenges such as working at community and system scale in parallel
  • Support strategic and cultural change both across the Surrey Heartlands system and in communities
  • Use insight, analytics and intelligence to inform actions, and steer collaborative working groups to identify key activities
  • Connect expertise from across the partnerships to draw in the right skills, at the right time, to deliver results
  • Help implement a range of prototypes and new approaches, help projects stay on track and deliver in a timely way
  • Communicate effectively in a range of ways, to capture and share learning, preparing reports and other documents for the local and national leaders
  • Facilitate large collaborative activities virtually and in person, supporting system leaders to co-design and co-produce change

You will be required to travel around the County to meet the community and partners in various locations. In line with SCC policy, efforts will be made to reduce the travel required where possible.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
