An exciting opportunity to join the newly created finance partnership between Surrey County Council (SCC) and Tandridge District Council (TDC) as a Finance Business Partner.
Following recent approval to proceed we are now implementing a new finance operating model which will see the Councils working in partnership and developing a new operating model that will blend the skills, experience and expertise of the Surrey and Tandridge finance teams.
We’ve set ourselves the mission ‘to build a trusted, proactive and insightful Finance Service which is at the heart of developing a strong culture of financial management, accountability and evidence-based decision making across the council’.
To fulfil that mission we are building an expert, high performing finance team with a strong orientation to working effectively in partnership. We’ve created the Tandridge Finance Transformation (TFT) Programme which is redefining the way we work as finance business partners with the wider organisation. You will be part of a team working to deliver great services and at the forefront of embedding excellent financial management.
This role will support the Finance Business Partner lead on Housing, Communities and Projects so it will be ideal if you have experience of those services but your commitment, energy and willingness to learn will also be paramount.
You are either a fully-qualified accounting technician or actively studying for that qualification, you will be proficient in the use and interpretation of financial data with good attention to detail and IT skills, and be effective at managing your own time and deadlines. Equally importantly, you will have really good communication and relationship-building skills.
