Our in-house Home Improvement Agency (HIA) enables vulnerable residents to continue to live independently at home. We provide advice, assistance and support to older or disabled residents who wish to adapt their homes. We are seeking a highly motivated, organised, enthusiastic Caseworker who has experience of working within the HIA sector or another relevant area such as Housing, Social Care or Benefits advice.
As a case worker you will work within the team to deliver and co-ordinate services and advice to residents. You will act as a single point of contact for agency services visiting clients in their own homes to establish their needs and provide expert advice on the range of services available. You will liaise with occupational therapists, contractors and surveyors to provide a project manager service for residents assessing specifications and tenders and overseeing the smooth running of works.
You will need to be an effective negotiator, flexible, an excellent communicator and sensitive to client’s needs. This post is subject to enhanced DBS checks.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- a proven track record of undertaking holistic assessment and delivering support
- a good understanding of issues affecting vulnerable people in living independently at home
- a commitment to delivering high calibre customer service
- Knowledge of systems, processes and procedures necessary to support a busy office
- Experience of managing a caseload of residents
- Experience of working effectively in partnership with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders/agencies/organisations
