The starting salary for this position is £27,991 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

We currently have a permanent position for a Supported Lodgings Officer to join our Supported Lodgings Team. The team is part of the Fostering Service and recruits, assesses and supports people who offer family based Supported Lodgings for young people who are leaving the care system.
The work is varied and no two days are the same so you will need to be adaptable and enjoy a challenge! The Supported Lodgings Team is a small but busy team which is committed to the provision of a quality service. Your role will involve working with Supported Lodgings Carers and with young people. We also work closely with social workers and the Care Leavers Service.
You will need experience of working with children or young people in a paid or voluntary setting, together with a good understanding of the needs and experiences of young people who have been in care.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential in this work. You will also need to be able to work to timescales in a busy environment and be a confident computer user. A good standard of literacy will be required, as part of the role will involve writing reports. Surrey’s Children’s Service provides comprehensive support together with excellent in-house training to ensure professional development and competence.

The Supported Lodgings Team is based in Redhill but covers the whole of Surrey. You will therefore need to be able to travel throughout the county and also be prepared to work some evenings where required.
An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
