The starting salary for this role is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
The focus of this Data Steward role is on data quality.
This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We’re less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. About the role
As the lead Data Steward for data quality you will work closely with the Data Governance Manager to develop, promote and ensure all council directorates adhere to data governance policies. You will help identify and address data issues to support the organisation to deliver its data strategy.
You will have a particular focus on helping the organisation to understand its data quality and what data quality issues exist. You will work closely with a number of different council services, technical experts, and project managers. As well as this, you will enable teams to proactively identify poor quality data and its causes and help to resolve these issues, at source, through the implementation of solutions and/or validation mechanisms.
We’re looking for someone who understands what constitutes good data quality and has some experience of work to improve data quality. As well as this, you will have experience of utilising data quality tools (e.g. Informatica, Collibra etc.) as part of your previous roles.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- That you are self-motivated, collaborative, and curious; an excellent communicator who can build productive relationships
- Confidence in your knowledge about data quality and ability to lead project discussions on the best practices surrounding end-to-end data quality processes
- A certification in, or received training in, data quality as a topic
- Commitment to sharing your data quality knowledge and skills and upskilling team members via knowledge sharing sessions.
