The starting salary for this role is £21,943 per annum for a 36-hour working week. A variety of contracts are available.
The position is based at Dakota, Brooklands in Weybridge with the opportunity to work from home for 3 days per week after your initial induction period.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are passionate about providing excellent customer service to work in our Adult Social Care Information and Advice Service.
The Adult Social Care Information and Advice Service is part of Surrey’s Contact Centre and is the 'front door' to Adult Social Care services. You will be working in a fast-paced environment responding to a broad range of enquiries from the public, professionals and partner agencies.
As a Service Support Assistant, you will be a highly organised, confident communicator with a professional and flexible approach to your work. You will have the ability to interact positively with residents and professionals by putting them at ease and displaying understanding and empathy. You will have the resilience to cope with sensitive and at times upsetting information and be able to prioritise effectively and remain calm whilst working under pressure.
As the public voice of the Council, you will have an extremely important role to play which demands a positive and proactive attitude. You will handle telephone calls from professionals and members of the public, providing universal service information, directing to websites and transferring calls to appropriate services, using databases to access sensitive information. You will identify those callers who require a strength-based conversation with an Advisory Officer in order to progress their request for support or provided targeted information and advice.
You will also input electronically received information, as directed, into appropriate databases and ensure that new contacts are processed to the appropriate team in a timely manner and carry out general office duties as required. The ability to multitask confidently across various IT systems is essential.
You will work collaboratively with team members to provide a high quality and efficient support to the Service's overall aim to improve outcomes for residents.

- Excellent IT skills and ability to use databases to a high standard of accuracy
- Ability to work effectively and flexibly and as part of a team

- Ability to travel to Brooklands, Weybridge for at least 2 days per week following induction period
- Ability to work from home, including access to Wi-Fi
