The starting salary for this role is £61,463 per annum for working 36 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a programme manager to join our team at Surrey County Council in transforming how residents, frontline people delivering services and partner organisations interact with the council, optimised for the digital space.
This will be underpinned by a robust set of customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities that will help us to truly know our residents and users, and service and pre-empt their needs.

About the Role
The Senior Programme Manager will lead this high-profile programme, collaborating across the organisation to introduce a new approach to Relationship Management and Insights (RM&I) which realises a seamless experience for customers that builds relationships across all stakeholders. It will require the development of plans and strategies for a significant shift in our culture, systems and data management, including but not restricted to the upgrade or procurement of new corporate systems.
The RM&I programme is integral to the council achieving a desired step change in the realisation of our Customer Experience strategy. The programme will work collaboratively with the Digital team to support development of a single view of our customers, utilised to deliver timely and proactive services across the most significant moments of a customer’s life. This is a large-scale, organisation-wide initiative that will require an astute, engaging and inclusive approach. The programme is currently in early discovery and design phase and the post holder will take on leadership of the design before moving to delivery.

To join us, you need to be organised, self-starting and adaptable. Good with people and great in a team, you’ll work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will have excellent communication skills, a qualification or demonstrable experience in programme management, significant experience of successfully leading, developing and managing complex, strategic programmes, and the ability to facilitate business change.
You combine these talents with experience, knowledge and/or passion for maximising customer experience, implementation of forward-looking CRM systems to support customer and business needs, and a good understanding of working effectively in the Local Authority or public sector.
The role will be formally based in Reigate and some travel to other venues in Surrey will be required for specific meetings or workshops. However, an agile workforce approach, including homeworking and flexible use of local offices in Surrey, is in place. We will make sure you have everything required to do this effectively, including training in Microsoft Teams.
