Guildford Borough Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive and experienced Maintenance and Repairs Officer with a positive approach to become part of our recently restructured Technical Services Team.
Our service area is responsible for the maintenance, planned improvement and major refurbishment of over 5000 social housing properties
The post is responsible for the inspection and identification of repairs and maintenance requirements, allocation and supervision of work carried out either in-house or by external contractors and includes pre, in-process, post & void inspections.
Reporting directly to the Senior Maintenance and Repairs Officer this post is key to delivering the maintenance service to our housing property within set priorities and performance targets. The postholder will need to be able to project manage our direct workforce and sub-contractors to ensure we deliver our service within tight parameters and to a high standard. Effective liaison with other service areas particularly in relation to estate management is critical to performance.
This is a technical role with knowledge of building maintenance and construction essential criteria. Ability to be able to physically access property and restricted areas such as roof spaces will be required.
Applicants must have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK to allow for regular site visits across the Borough.
