Pay Band: 3, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday
As part of Community Services, this post supports the Community Transport and Community Meals team to provide transport and hot meals to vulnerable residents of Guildford Borough. Our services assist customers to remain independent in their homes for longer and promote health and wellbeing.
Working to a schedule in purpose adapted vehicles, you will be responsible for transporting eligible customers to shopping trips, medical appointments, and social activities within the Guildford area. You will also assist with the delivery of hot lunchtime meals when required.
You will be required to drive a minibus and to comply with UK Government requirements you must be:
- 21 years or older
- and have had your full valid UK driver’s licence for at least two years
The post is subject to DBS checks for the successful candidate prior to appointment.
This is a physical role that requires good level of fitness, good communication skills, a flexible style of working, a sound knowledge of transport related procedures and an awareness of the physical problems and other difficulties our service users may have.
