Programme Officer
At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity and exploring new ways of working.
The Programmes Team is responsible for providing professional support to the delivery of corporate programmes and projects in order to achieve the Council's key priorities and objectives.
We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Programme Officer to assist in the delivery of major projects and programmes. There is a particular emphasis in this role on investigating the viability of future projects, service improvements and exploring opportunities for creating new income streams.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders, quickly establishing credibility at all levels in the Council and with our partners. An ability to analyse data, trends, and prepare feasibility studies, business cases and complex reports is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team delivering several projects and workstreams at the same time.
Experience of working in a project or programme management role within the public sector would be an advantage, but applications from candidates with the relevant experience gained in other sectors are also welcomed.
This role will report to the Principal Programme Manager and, on occasion, will involve attending Committee meetings and stakeholder engagement events outside of normal office hours. This is a full-time position, however, flexible working hours and hybrid working will be considered.
In return you will benefit from 24 days annual leave (rising to 29 after 5 years’ service), subsidised gym membership and car parking, payment of professional fees, entitlement to join the local government pension scheme, and non-contributory life assurance.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional and committed team and we look forward to receiving your application. For further details please contact Emma Hill at ehill@epsom-ewell.gov.uk
