Adults Advanced Practitioner (Occupational Therapist)
The starting salary for this role is £46,634 per annum for working 36 hours per week. This is a 12-month secondment / fixed term contract.

We are looking for an Advanced Practitioner (Assistant Team Manager equivalent scale) who is a specialist in the field of Occupational Therapy and can demonstrate a high level of understanding and commitment to strength-based practice and the personalisation agenda. You will provide clinical supervision to the occupational therapists in the team as well as carry a small case load of complex cases. You will also be able to demonstrate an applied knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework. You will also have excellent Safeguarding knowledge and skills.
You will be an excellent communicator who can demonstrate the skills and ability to manage and support the day-to-day responses of the occupational therapists in a busy and dynamic team, to include prioritising daily challenges effectively.
Confident in making sound practice decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs and emergencies that arise in the community, you will also be able to develop effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers and families including forming positive relationships with other professionals, particularly in the NHS.
You will support the team manager to deliver high quality personalised adult social care with a clear strength-based agenda. You will line manage and be responsible for the supervision of both qualified occupational therapists and unqualified staff within the team, managing safeguarding concerns and ensuring that they are followed through as appropriate. You must also be able to demonstrate an applied and effective knowledge of safeguarding procedures and be able to evidence this within your work. This will compliment your extensive experience, up to date theory and knowledge of legislation to enhance practice, procedures and policies. You will also be committed to promoting innovation and introducing new ways of working from recognised sites of excellence.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- That you are a qualified Occupational Therapist, have current professional registration with the relevant registration authority and adhere to their standards for conduct, performance, and ethics.
- Significant post qualification experience at a senior occupational therapist level.
- Experience in leading and developing occupational therapists within the service to improve practice and work collaboratively.
- Can provide highly specialist advice to occupational therapists, healthcare professionals, other agencies, service users and carers/relatives.
- Sharing best practice theories of specialist areas.
- Are competent in the use of a wide range of equipment and providing advanced clinical reasoning to complex solutions.
- Competent in areas of moving and handling, DFG processes, seating.
- Advanced Occupational Therapy Skills for working with clients with a range of complex conditions and will be a resource to advise, train and teach specialist skills to colleagues within the wider therapy team.
- A key accountability of the role is developing best practice and therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate evidence of providing effective professional clinical supervision to occupational therapists and less experienced colleagues.
- A willingness and ability to travel across Surrey in accordance with the demands of the work and job profile.
- Your range of IT skills to a competent level as well as a willingness to learn to use a variety of software systems.
