About the role
Providing business support for the Surrey Children’s Services Workforce Academy you will be joining the Quality Performance division at a time of significant change, as we transform our Children’s Services. We have a new management in place and are implementing innovative approaches to what we do to deliver our vision. We are looking to grow the business support within the academy to support the learning journey of developing the workforce of the council and its partners. We are looking for a full time Administrator to work in this varied and interesting role to help us with this.
You will be highly organised and willing to take responsibility and use initiative; being comfortable in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines. You will make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that all runs smoothly for the processes and teams you support and, as a Senior Administrator, will support more junior staff to ensure daily workflow is completed to timescales.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and oral communication skills. You will have experience of working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
While this role will initially be based in Leatherhead, there is a planned move to relocate teams currently based in this office relocating at some point in 2023 and council staff will be required to work in an increasingly agile way, with a willingness to travel across the county as needed.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a solid background in administration
- Has experience of working in a busy office environment
- Has experience of managing workflow and/or leading more junior staff
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills
- Is confident, organised and able to implement a proactive and flexible approach to work
- Has excellent IT skills and is proficient in using Microsoft Office
Previous experience or an understanding of working in a Learning Development environment and working with Learning Management Systems would be beneficial, but we will provide you with the training and support you need to be successful in the role.
