  • Closing on: Tue 09/08/2022, 0:59 AM
  • Working Pattern: Full Time
  • Hours: 36.0 hours per week
  • Salary: £32,173 per annum

  • Location: Reigate/Hybrid

The starting salary for this role is £32,173 per annum, working 36 hours per week. Whilst our offices are open for you to use as you need to, we usually meet once a month as a team so outside of any urgent face to face meetings, we’re happy for you to work where you’re happiest working.

This role is a fixed term contract/secondment until June 2023.

Ooooh so we’ve caught your eye and you’re thinking about joining the recruitment team at Surrey? We wouldn’t blame you! As you can tell we’re a very modest team who loves a good advert intro but in all seriousness this role is a fantastic opportunity.

We’re currently in the process of building up our attraction team and there has never been a better time to join us. We’re looking for someone who can bring a fresh pair of eyes, a curious mindset, and a proactive attitude to what is already a very engaged and committed team.

So let us tell you a little more about Surrey County Council and the role itself…

Our workforce is made up of over 11,000 staff spanning a wide variety of roles within sectors such as hospitality, social care, environment and transport, executive recruitment and everything in between. Supporting over 800 hiring managers, we process on average over 2000 adverts each year.

The role of the Attraction Consultant is instrumental in effectively advertising the Council’s vacancies whilst considering quality, accuracy, and candidate engagement at each and every step. You’ll be working closely with hiring managers to better understand their vacancies and coached by a fantastic Attraction Lead whilst working on social and digital advertising campaigns.

Many of our team have worked hard to secure promotions in their careers at Surrey, whether that be in the recruitment team or elsewhere in the Council and this is something we’re really proud of. The work and projects we manage lend themselves to wonderful development opportunities and a real variety of work.

Our culture

I won’t beat around the bush- we’re really proud of the culture we have built and maintained within the team. Our values and support for one another is intrinsic to everything we do and will be a key priority within the assessment for this post. We care hugely about wellbeing, allowing time for a good giggle, and developing our team to be the best they can be.

About you

We’re open to transferable skills and we recognise that recruitment isn’t about tick boxes. You may have a background in recruitment or simply just a passion for advertising and marketing. We love developing a skills gap so don’t be put off if you don’t feel you hit every single marker below- we’re looking for commitment not perfection.

To be shortlisted for this role, your application will evidence how you meet the below criteria or list any transferable experience in your personal statement:

  • Excellent administrative skills including IT skills and use of systems
  • A passion for recruitment and/or marketing
  • Experience of building strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to spot inaccuracies and a confidence in delivering accurate work
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development

For more information please find the full job description below and refer to this before submitting your application. We also invite you to read our Life at Surrey handbook to see insights of the culture at Surrey and how as a valued employee, you can help shape our Council.
