Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development (SOLD) offers year-round outdoor learning experiences to children, young people and adults. Our staff deliver a range of programmes including land based, water based and residential programmes to our visitors. We have spacious log cabins, camping facilities and fully furnished authentic yurts.

We are looking for staff to join our team to assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals at our outdoor centres. We provide our visitors with healthy nutritious meals, refreshments, and snacks. Our visitors are largely school groups, so friendly, patient, and smiley staff are required! We also cater for corporate groups, special events, and outdoor events, which add variety to the role.

We currently have catering shifts available at our three busy centres:

  • High Ashurst OEC, Mickleham, Dorking, Surrey RH5 6DQ
  • Henley Fort OEC, Guildford, Surrey GU2 4RH
  • Thames Young Mariners OEC, Ham, Richmond, Surrey TW10 7RX

Approximate hours of catering shifts at our centres are 7am - 12pm and 3pm - 8pm, and we operate 7 days per week. This is a bank contract, enabling you to choose when you wish to work (from the shifts offered). This can fit well around other jobs, your studies, and other commitments.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • An interest or background in catering
  • That you hold or aspire to hold a CIEH Food Hygiene L2 qualification
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instruction and take on new skills.

High Ashurst and Henley Fort are in remote locations. Please consider your journey and transport arrangements before applying.
