The starting salary for this position is £26,080 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

Would you like an exciting opportunity to make a change to the lives of families and young people in Surrey? If so, why not join our Children’s Service Information Governance Team as a Senior Team Administrator!

Our team handles a wide variety of information requests, such as Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests under the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and other Information Sharing Requests, as well as providing advice, training and guidance to staff across the Children’s, Families, and Life Long Learning Directorate together with managing customer expectations.

Your role will involve being the first point of contact for the team. You will log requests using Icase, liaise with professionals both within Social Care and with other external agencies, keep track of information, update and maintain spreadsheets and databases, take meeting notes and subsequently distribute to involved parties. This is a busy role where no two days are the same!

To be successful in this role, you will need to be highly organised, willing to take responsibility and use initiative, comfortable in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines. You will make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that all runs smoothly for the processes, as well as the team you support.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, along with a high level of written and oral communication skills. You should have experience of working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has a solid background in administration and working in a busy office environment
  • Has excellent time management skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Has experience of managing workflow and/or leading more junior staff
  • Has excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Is confident, organised and able to implement a proactive approach to your work
  • Has excellent IT skills and is proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • An understanding of GDPR and Icase, will be an advantage but training can be provided
