The starting salary for this role is £26,080 per annum based on a 36-hour working week (Hybrid working – remote and in the office). This is a fixed term contact until 31st March 2023.

Please note this is a Hybrid role and therefore time will be flexibly split between working from home and in the office.

We are looking for two full-time Senior Administrators to work in this varied and interesting role within the Educational Psychology Service.

The Educational Psychology Service sits within the Children, Families and Learning Directorate which provides a range of highly specialist services to vulnerable children and young people. Services are delivered directly to children and their families within extensive statutory frameworks and staff working in these areas need specialist knowledge in order to deliver effective services to these high risk and high need groups.

You will assist in supporting the Educational Psychology teams to deliver a range of activities to make a difference to children and young people. You will support individual work in schools (e.g. processing psychological reports), the smooth running of group interventions (e.g. Emotional Literacy Support Assistant training and supervision) and systemic change (e.g. training and conferences). Your tasks might include organising appointments and multiagency training courses, liaison with professionals both within Education and with other agencies; keeping track of information, resources and materials, updating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases; taking meeting notes and subsequently distributing to involved parties, ensuring timescales are met; and providing performance information.

You will be highly organised and willing to take responsibility and use your initiative, as well as being comfortable in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines. You will make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that all runs smoothly for both the processes and teams you support.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and verbal communication skills. You will have experience of working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has a solid background in administration
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • An ability to manage workflows
  • Shows excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Is confident, organised and able to implement a proactive approach to work
  • Is able to demonstrate excellent IT skills and is proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Has a knowledge or interest in psychology and supporting vulnerable learners
