Partnership and Volunteering Administrator

The starting salary for this role is £23,282 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

At Surrey Fire and Rescue Service we are putting prevention at the heart of our Service and we are looking for talented people who are ready for the challenge of engaging with our community, helping people to keep themselves safe and ensuring that the most vulnerable are supported where we can.

Prevention is at the heart of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and as we move into 2023 we have an excellent opportunity for a new role. As the Prevention Administrator, you will organise and allocate the requested Safe and Well Visits that are received by Surrey Fire and Rescue. Contacting the public and liaising with partner agencies, including Adult Social Care, ensuring that all requests and enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner, which in turn provides people in the community who are most risk with a level of support and ongoing intervention for Fire Safety.

This role requires you to work in a variety of locations across Surrey and may include collaboration with other Fire and Rescue Services.  The role is part of Surrey County Council’s agile working strategy so you won’t always need to work in an office and can instead sometimes work somewhere which suits you better.

Working alongside the Community Safety Partnership Team and Events and Volunteers Manager you will be part of working with teams across SFRS and our partners to inform and educate people in Safety: at Home, on the roads and outdoors, helping communities to gain skills and awareness to stay safe and live well.

We are looking for a great communicator, with good written and verbal skills and have a sound understanding of computer programmes such as Word, Excel, and Teams. Also, to have the ability to learn about internal software systems and be able to use these effectively to carry out the role

You will report to the Prevention and Volunteer Manager and your interaction will be across the whole Prevention Team’s remit which includes:

• Organising the day-to-day allocation of our Domestic Safe and Well visits
• Help in supporting organised events and community engagements
• Provide support in the volunteers department with advertising work requests and event attendance.
