Full Time - 36 hours a week.

We are looking to recruit an Arts and Cultural Development Manager to join the Leisure & Community Development Team at Spelthorne Borough Council.

This is an exciting, broad, and varied role, responsible for managing the Council’s arts and heritage programmes, developing initiatives to inspire the community and increase engagement in the arts and culture. The position is part of a passionate team that puts the community at the heart of everything we do.

As the Arts and Community Development Manager you will encourage greater collaboration between local arts groups, strengthening the local arts sector.  You will work in partnership with key stakeholders, explore funding opportunities and developing initiatives based on existing and emerging needs, setting targets and monitoring outcomes.

You will also be responsible for overseeing management of the Spelthorne Resource Centre acting as the principle point of contact for temporary staff.

It is an exciting time to join Spelthorne’s Leisure and Community Development Team. The challenges for local communities recovering from the Pandemic and cost of living crisis require an innovative response and present new opportunities for collaboration. The Council is engaged in a number of capital projects that present exciting new opportunities for the Leisure and Community Development Team.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of arts and heritage programming. Someone with a can-do attitude, willingness to work independently and as part of a team, with a passion for community development and the ability to manage casual staff and volunteers.

You will be comfortable working with numbers and data in spreadsheets and databases and be able to interpret and convey complex information in plain English for a variety of audiences.

Please note that this post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.  The post requires some evening and weekend work and will also be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
