Tech Advocate
The starting salary for this position is £41,127 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join Surrey County Council as an Information Technology Advocate.
About Us
The Tech Advocates are a team of 4, including the Tech Advocates Manager, who work together to promote best practice and enable staff to use technology with confidence.
The Tech Advocates team support the wider business by providing functional IT support for Surrey County Council staff. The team actively promote use of the IT and Digital core investment by providing user support for:
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft 365
- Windows and iOS devices
- conferencing technology
In the past 12 months the Tech Advocates team have: Created high-quality written and video guidance, attended in-house events to promote the service, supported hybrid meetings and events, provided support or recommended solutions for individuals, teams and services, hosted in-person events, attended industry events and produced a monthly, subscription newsletter for Surrey County Council staff.
About You
To join the team you will need strong IT skills, natural curiosity and the confidence to engage directly with our diverse workforce. You should be motivated to learn on the job, keep up-to-date with the latest IT and Digital developments and support the team in continuing to provide an innovative and outstanding service.

The Tech Advocate will be required to work on-site, based at our Reigate office, and to travel to other Surrey County Council sites as needed. There will be some opportunity to work both flexibly and remotely, such as working from home, when this meets the business needs.
